About the club

We started Little Chefs Club because dinner is a life skill, not a takeaway.

Founded in 2018 by chef Romi Patel, Little Chefs Club is a small, fierce kitchen that teaches kids the difference between heating something up and cooking. We run weekly classes, holiday camps, family sessions, school programmes and the loudest birthday parties in West London.

How it all started

A mum, two picky eaters and a kitchen that changed everything.

As a parent, I always struggled to feed my children. Both of them had food allergies — and mealtimes were a battlefield of labels, substitutions and tiny tantrums. I was exhausted. But I was also a mum who loved cooking, and I could not bear the thought of my children growing up afraid of food.

So I did what any slightly sleep-deprived, slightly obsessive parent would do. I pulled them into the kitchen with me. I handed them a spoon. I let them make a mess. And something shifted — not just in them, but in me.

Watching my children go from suspicious to curious to genuinely proud of what they had cooked was one of the most moving things I have ever seen. They were not just learning recipes. They were learning confidence. I created Little Chefs Club because every child deserves that feeling — especially the ones who have always been told food is difficult.

I wanted to pass on my passion for cooking to children who might otherwise grow up thinking the kitchen was not for them.

What we do

Real skills. Real food. Real confidence.

We run hands-on cooking classes for children aged 5 to 14 in Feltham and Hampton. Every session teaches a new technique, a new ingredient and a recipe they cook from scratch — then take home to show off.

Weekly classes

Age-grouped after-school sessions for Mini, Junior and Teen Chefs. Small classes, real knives, proper food.

Holiday camps

Immersive half and full-day intensives during school holidays. Five recipes, a lot of flour and zero screens.

Birthday parties

Chef-themed parties where every guest cooks the menu and helps decorate the birthday cake.

Family sessions

Grown-up and child cook a three-course menu together. We do the washing up.

School programmes

Curriculum-linked cooking workshops delivered in your school kitchen, hall or classroom.

Allergy-aware kitchen

Nut-free as standard. We work with most allergens when notified. Food should be for everyone.

Our vision

A generation of children who are not afraid of food.

We believe cooking is one of the most powerful things a child can learn. Not just because it feeds them — but because it teaches patience, creativity, problem-solving and pride. We want every child who leaves our kitchen to believe they can cook anything.

How we cook

Five things we will not bend on.

Real ingredients

Whole onions. Real eggs. Bread we proved this morning. Nothing comes out of a sachet.

Real techniques

Knife skills, sauce-making, dough work. Age-appropriate but never dumbed down.

Small classes

Maximum eight chefs per session. Every kid gets the chef on speed-dial.

Nut-free kitchen

Strictly. We can accommodate nut allergies and most other allergens, just tell us.

They eat what they cook

And they take a portion home. Bring a Tupperware, save a tenner.

The grown-ups

Chefs, teachers, parents, washer-uppers.

Every class is led by a qualified chef and supported by a DBS-checked assistant. We are first-aid trained and food-hygiene certified, and we have all hosted a kitchen birthday with twelve sugared-up nine year olds, so we know what we are doing.
